Climate
The Costa de Prata in central Portugal has a temperate
Mediterranean climate. It is comparable to Toscane in
Italy or the Provence in France, only with an additional
cool Atlantic breeze. The average maximum temperature in
summer lies between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. It hardly
ever freezes and when the sun breaks through, you
immediately feel its intensity. Obviously, this is great
beach weather but at the same time it is not too hot for
activities such as biking and hiking.
Temperature in The Costa de Prata.
In the table beneath you find the average minimum and
maximum temperatures of the city of Óbidos which is near
Quinta da Vida Serena. Therefore it gives you a good
indication of our local temperatures.

Seawater
temperature Costa de Prata.
The average sea water temperature shown in the table
above is based on sea water temperatures from the beach
of Sao Martinho do Porto which is closest to our Quinta.
During high season the water temperature rises to a 21
degrees, which is a little bit cooler then temperatures
in the Mediterranean Sea. However, during off season the
seawater temperatures in central Portugal hardly every
drop below 15 degrees which is actually a bit warmer
than the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
Rainfall
Costa de Prata.
Estramadura and Costa de Prata are situated in central
Portugal, closed in by the dry south and the north which
is more humid. This is pretty ideal if you love sunshine
as well as nature.
