Love culture? You came to the right place. There is lots of sight-seeing to do, and it’s all nearby. Lovely cities like: Alcobaça, Aveiro, Batalha, Caldas da Rainha, Coimbra, Fatima, Figueira de Foz, Óbidos, Leiria, Lisbon, Mafra, Nazaré, Peniche, Santarém, Sintra.

Walking/hiking:

Casal de Macalhona is situated right in the middle of a national park. You can make walking tours in the area around our Quinta, in the national parks of Serra de Candeeiros, Sintra, the lagoons of Óbidos. A lovely daytrip would be the Berlenga Islands, near the coast of Peniche.

Our guesthouse is just a few kilometres away from several beaches such as São Martinho de Porto, Salir do Porto, Nazaré, Foz de Arelho, Salgado, Baleal and the south coast of Peniche.

Golf:

If you like to play golf, there are several golf courses nearby such as: Praia D’el Rey, Óbidos, Botado, Peniche, Golden Eagle, Rio Maior, Vimeiro (Torres Vedras).

Touring:

Serra de Candeeiros, "Rota de Vinho" of the Turism, Serra de Montejunto, the coastal road from Peniche to Sintra. We have a set of mountain bikes that can be used in return for a small compensation. The area is very suitable for mountain biking.
